Bridges is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (P.C.A.)
A group of thirty Christians had been praying and planning for about a year to plant a new church in Alhambra. We gathered for our first worship service on Easter Sunday 2019. We thought we were starting something at that point, but didn’t fully see how our story started well before then…
“We’ve been praying for years that God would send an English-speaking congregation to worship and share the gospel here.” This was how Pastor Joseph Novak of the American Hungarian Church in Alhambra introduced himself to the pastors of Bridges back in 2019.
This conversation with Pastor Joseph helped us to see that God had been preparing and providing for Bridges well before we even had the idea of seeing a church planted in our neighborhood.
Because Jesus is God with us, “Emmanuel,” our desire was to see a local body of believers gathered together that reflected the needs and demographics of our neighborhood.
Jesus is the head of his Church, and our desire at Bridges is to be a home in Christ, where you can be known and accepted — where you can connect with God and with his Church.
